1. When should I book an electrician or qualified installer?
We advise that you wait for delivery of your light fittings before booking an electrician or installer to install your ordered products. We also recommend that you inspect your light fittings within 48 hours of delivery in case of any breakage in transit. Hoxton Lights will not be liable for any third party costs should a light fitting not be delivered in time for an electrician or installer appointment.
2. What is IP rating?
The IP (International Protection) rating given to a piece of electrical apparatus is a two digit code indicating the degree of protection its enclosure provides. The first digit represents protection against penetration by solid objects accessing hazardous parts, the second describing the enclosure's, protection against the ingress of water. An X in place of either digit means that either the enclosure has not been tested or that the test is not applicable.

3. Is my light fitting suitable for use in a bathroom or outside?
We advise that you consult a qualified electrician to ensure that your fitting is suitable for the installation location. A qualified electrician will be able to advise on the minimum IP rating needed for your proposed siting as this can vary depending on proximity to showers, baths and sinks.
4. When will my goods arrive?
Many of our goods are made to order. An indicative delivery timescale is shown on the product pages on this website. The timescale shown is for indication only and is not guaranteed. Usually goods are delivered well within the time period indicated depending on stock and materials availability. If you're in a hurry to receive your light fittings please email us on firstname.lastname@example.org and we will be happy to check stock levels or confirm expected lead times.
5. Can I arrange a weekend delivery?
We use DPD and Parcel Force for delivery. You will receive a text or email when your goods are dispatched and out for delivery including a tracking ID. You may reschedule, upgrade or redirect your delivery directly with DPD or Parcel Force for your convenience.
6. Low voltage lighting - do i need to buy a transformer?
Some of our low voltage products are supplied with integrated transformers and can be connected to the mains. Some products are supplied with external transformers. Products with external transformers require installation of the transformer on the circuit, usually out of sight in a wall, ceiling or floor void for example. Some of our low voltage products require purchase of a transformer separately. This is normally indicated on the product pages. If in doubt, please contact us. We're here to help.
7. Do i require an LED driver?
Some of our LED lighting products are supplied with integral LED drivers or are designed for mains connection. Some are supplied with external LED drivers which need to be connected to the circuit and sited out of sight in a wall, ceiling or floor void for example. Some of our products require purchase of an LED driver separately. If in doubt, please contact us. We're here to help.

9. Do you have a shop i can visit?
In order to offer you high quality products at great value without compromise in service we only sell online and we do not have a high street presence.
10. Can i order by telephone?
Generally we only sell online however should you not wish to make your purchase via the website, we are happy to assist you over the telephone.
